Other than the coaching staff, there was hardly any spillover from Chelsea when Jose Mourinho was hired by Manchester United last summer. But that doesn't mean he didn't try.

Chelsea star Willian revealed that United was interested in signing him during the summer, adding that he believes Mourinho was eager to reunite with him at Old Trafford.

"Concrete, I do not know," Willian said in an interview with Globo Esporte, as translated by Allan Valente of Sky Sports. "But there was interest, yes. From Manchester United, because Mourinho is there too.

"From other clubs I do not know, but there are always some things on the internet. But I'm glad to hear that there are clubs that admire my work."

Mourinho was responsible for bringing Willian to Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk when he returned for his second stint with the Blues in 2013. The pair went on to enjoy success in their second season together, with Chelsea capturing the Premier League title and the League Cup during the 2014-15 term.

Willian claimed that he's content with life at Chelsea, but admitted that he would struggle to make a decision if he received an offer to play in the Chinese Super League, where former teammates, such as Oscar, Ramires, and Mikel John Obi, moved following exorbitant bids.

"To make this decision, we end up thinking about our future, our children, and family," he said.

"I do not know if I would or not. What I can say is that I'm happy at Chelsea, I feel very good there, as if it were my home."
