Club president: Lyon won't stop Lacazette from leaving

Lyon will not stand in the way of any summer bids for striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the club's president.

Jean-Michel Aulas told OL TV he would grant Lacazette's wish to leave the Ligue 1 outfit if the opportunity arises.

Lyon batted away attempts from Arsenal to lure the 25-year-old to the Emirates last summer, despite an official €35-million offer from the Gunners in July.

The Frenchman then confirmed his intention to remain at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais for one more season in an attempt to reach the 30-goal mark with the only professional club he's known.

Well on his way to achieving that objective, Lacazette said in a recent interview with Canal Plus that "the right time has arrived" to consider a move abroad.

And Aulas, who's dealt with this kind of situation before, completely understands the player's motives.

"If one day there is an opportunity, of course, as we did with Sam (Umtiti) and Abi (Eric Abidal) in Barcelona, or Karim (Benzema) in Madrid, or further in time with Ludo (Ludovic Giully) to Monaco, who left, why not?" Aulas said, according to ESPN FC. "Alex has wanted to play in a great club and Lyon does not object. We are perfectly in line."

With 18 goals in Ligue 1 thus far, Lacazette could reignite long-standing interest from Arsenal, along with reported advances from Juventus and Barcelona.
