Jets' Lee claims he was attacked outside Ohio bar Saturday night

New York Jets first-round linebacker Darron Lee got a rude welcoming to the state in which he spent his collegiate career Saturday night.

In a Persicope video broadcast on Monday, the former Ohio State star told viewers he was attacked by a stranger when leaving an Ohio bar on Super Bowl eve. Lee says the attack took him by surprise and he did not fight back.

"Midway from the exit of the bar, I get hit and tackled simultaneously," Lee said in the broadcast. "Have no idea who it was. I wasn't in an argument with anybody. I hadn't said a word to anybody. Just leaving the bar to go home, and I get punched and tackled.

"I have no idea by whom. To this very moment I have no idea by whom. Don't care."

Lee, who just completed his rookie season, said in a now-deleted tweet that police had eventually intervened and he thanked them for "sparing a young man's life tonight," according to Connor Hughes of NJ Advance Media.

The 22-year-old was not seriously injured in the attack, but sustained a few bumps and bruises. You can view his entire nine and a half minute broadcast below.
