Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm added another milestone to a resume abundant with notable achievements by notching his 500th appearance with the Bavarian giant Saturday.

Lahm, 33, came on for Rafinha in the 77th minute of the weekend Bundesliga visit from Schalke, becoming the ninth Bayern player since 1965 to make as many run-outs.

A local boy who was preened in Bayern's youth academy, Lahm has played his entire career with the club save for a two-year loan spell with current second-tier side Stuttgart.

With Bayern, Lahm has been a constant presence as a versatile defender and later as a defensive mid, while the perennial German champ has repaid the diminutive German international with a healthy haul of trophies. Seven times a Bundesliga winner, Lahm has also played a part in a half-dozen domestic cups and Bayern's 2013 Champions League triumph over rival Borussia Dortmund.

Throw in a trio of German Super Cup wins, the 2013 UEFA Super Cup, and runner-up status in two Champions League finals, and Lahm and top-tier successes have become one in the same.

The 2014 World Cup winner is also no stranger to individual accolades for club and country, being named to the UEFA Team of the Year five times, honoured as a member of the UEFA Euro Team of the Tournament twice (2008, 2012), and awarded a spot on the 2010 World Cup Team of the Tournament.
