Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott captured the Offensive Rookie of the Year award Saturday night, beating out teammate Ezekiel Elliott.

Prescott received 28 votes, while Elliott racked up the remaining 21 votes.

Elliott joined Prescott on stage to accept the award.

"Do we have a knife so we can cut this in half?" Prescott joked.

Prescott completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns against four interceptions, steering the Cowboys to an NFC-best 13-3 record.

Selected in the fourth round, Prescott emerged as a breakout star after Tony Romo suffered an injury during the preseason and continued his excellent form into the regular season, taking over from the veteran as the team's starting quarterback.

"Thank you to the 31 other teams for passing up on me," Prescott said.
