Miami reels in 4-star OT Kai-Leon Herbert

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Miami's offensive line got a lot stronger on Wednesday, as four-star offensive tackle Kai-Leon Herbert committed to the Hurricanes.

The 6-foot-5, 282-pounder is ranked as the 12th-best offensive tackle in the country, and is listed as the 99th overall prospect on the ESPN 300.

Herbert previously pledged to Michigan before changing his mind and decommitting just three days ago. The Plantation, Fla., native was being pursued by a number of Power 5 programs before choosing Miami, including Florida, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and Ole Miss.

His commitment immediately bolsters Mark Richt's offensive line for next season, an important addition with star quarterback Brad Kaaya leaving for the NFL.

Miami currently holds the 13th-ranked class in the country for the 2017 cycle, but with Herbert's addition, the Hurricanes should rise up that list with national signing day just a week away.
