College sports is a booming business with high fan demand, especially in football and basketball.

Georgia once again proved this, by signing a new 10-year, $152.5-million multimedia and marketing rights deal with IMG College and JMI Sports, according to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald.

The new contract will pay Georgia at least $12.8 million for the 2017-18 academic year, with increases each year through the duration of the contract, ending in 2026-27.

Broken down, Georgia will receive $11 million for multimedia rights, $1.4 million for new media, and $400,000 for seatback rights.

The new contract replaces Georgia's existing deal that was set to expire on June 30 and paid the school $92.8 million over eight years, or $11.6 million on average per year.

The new $15.25-million per year average comes in just behind Alabama's roughly $16 million a year rights deal with Learfield Sports.
