Spurs' Gasol out indefinitely with broken finger

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

San Antonio Spurs veteran Pau Gasol suffered a fracture to the fourth metacarpal of his non-shooting hand prior to Thursday's game and is out indefinitely, the team said.

Bizarrely, Gasol suffered the injury during team warmups, possibly in a layup line.

The 36-year-old has seen a slight minutes reduction in his first year in San Antonio, but has started all 39 games he's played in as the replacement for Tim Duncan.

He's been fairly efficient when he's touched the ball too, averaging 11.7 points on 51 percent shooting - including 46.5 percent from deep.
