Indiana's Anunoby out indefinitely after injury vs. Penn State

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Indiana will be without OG Anunoby for an extended period of time after the star forward injured his knee during Wednesday's win over Penn State.

"OG sustained a knee injury in this past Wednesday night's game against Penn State and is in the midst of ongoing medical evaluations," head coach Tom Crean said in a statement. "He will be out indefinitely. On behalf of OG and our entire program, we thank you for all the support and well wished that have been sent his way."

Anunoby suffered the injury late in the first half against the Nittany Lions, as his knee buckled during an attempt for an offensive rebound. He was helped off the court and did not return in the second half.

An extended absence would be a massive loss for Indiana, as the electrifying forward is averaging 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest.

The Hoosiers are in the middle of a difficult stretch of their Big Ten schedule, with games against Michigan State, Michigan, and Northwestern next on the slate.
