Report: DeMar DeRozan voted as All-Star starter

Toronto Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan will represent the Eastern Conference as a starter in the 2017 All-Star Game, ESPN's Chris Haynes reports.

This would be DeRozan's third All-Star appearance in the last four seasons, abridged by an injury-plagued 2014-15 campaign.

DeRozan ranks second among Eastern Conference players in scoring at 28.2 per contest to go along with five rebounds and four assists per game. He opened the season with five straight games of 30 or more points, a feat last matched by Michael Jordan in 1986. DeRozan carried that momentum into his finest season to date after re-signing with the Raptors on a max contract last summer.

The 27-year-old swingman also represents one half of the two-man punch with Kyle Lowry that has led the Raptors to second place in the East behind only the Cleveland Cavaliers.

DeRozan will start alongside Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Jimmy Butler for the East.
