Report: Hull City rejects West Ham's £7.5M bid for Snodgrass

West Ham has fallen short again in its latest attempt to acquire Robert Snodgrass from Hull City.

Despite the Scot's refusal to sign a new contract earlier in the year, Hull City continues to resist offers for Snodgrass that fall short of its valuation.

Ed Aarons of the Guardian reports that Hull officials are believed to have rejected West Ham's latest effort to acquire the midfielder after the east London side submitted a bid worth £7.5 million - just £1.5 million more than its failed second bid.

West Ham - who opened talks with a £3-million offer - could face an even tougher pursuit now that Burnley, Watford, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland have reportedly joined the race for Snodgrass' signature, according to Aarons.

Hull is understood to have adjusted its initial £8-million valuation of the 29-year-old after agreeing to sell Jake Livermore to West Brom on Thursday for £10 million.

The Tigers are currently in the midst of a relegation battle, as the club sits one point above the foot of the table with 16 points through 21 matches.

There's little to believe Hull will manage to climb out of the drop zone before the month is through, with Premier League encounters against league-leaders Chelsea and Manchester United on the horizon.
