Report: Wake Forest to hire Jay Sawvel as DC

Wake Forest will reportedly hire former Minnesota defensive coordinator Jay Sawvel for the same position, a source told Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.

Sawvel guided Minnesota to the 21st-ranked scoring defense and total defense in 2016, but was let go after the Golden Gophers' Holiday Bowl victory.

The 46-year old would replace Mike Elko, who left for the same position at Notre Dame last month.
