Gianfranco Zola has made his third Birmingham City signing of the January transfer window by tempting Emilio Nsue from Middlesbrough.

The Equatorial Guinea international - who's adept at right-back or on the wing - has agreed to a three-and-a-half year deal at St Andrew's for an undisclosed fee. He arrives amid talks that Jonathan Spector could be returning to his native United States in Major League Soccer.

Nsue made 80 appearances for Middlesbrough between 2014 and 2017, but was restricted to four starts in the Premier League this season, the last of which in September.

Zola, further supplemented by the permanent acquisitions of Lukas Jutkiewicz and Craig Gardner, ushers his side back into Championship action in Saturday's trip to Blackburn Rovers.
