Steve Smith would vote Hester into HOF over himself

After announcing his retirement this winter, there's little doubt that Steve Smith will enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame in a few years' time, but there's one former Baltimore Ravens teammate he wants to see go in first.

Smith, the league's seventh all-time leading receiver, believes its greatest return artist - Devin Hester, who announced his likely retirement Saturday - is more deserving of a Canton nod than himself.

When Paul Pabst of "The Dan Patrick Show" posed a question to his Twitter followers asking which of the two should go into the Hall first, Smith put forth a humble response that differed greatly from his typical trash-talking self.

Smith and Hester spent most of the 2016 season together in Baltimore, before the return specialist was released in December. Hester was then scooped up by the Seattle Seahawks and played in both of their playoff games. He went out with a bang, returning five kickoffs for 194 yards against Atlanta on Saturday.

Hester ranks first in all-time punt return touchdowns, third in punt-return yards, and eighth in kick-return touchdowns through his 11-year career, despite teams regularly going to great lengths to avoid letting him touch the ball.
