Iowa State added some depth Sunday when former Michigan offensive lineman David Dawson announced he would be joining the Cyclones as a grad transfer.
"I would like to thank God for granting me another opportunity to play the game that I love and also allowing me to meet such a great staff and team in Iowa State! I'm proud to announce that I will finish my college career in Ames, IA," Dawson wrote in his Twitter statement.
Dawson appeared in three games last season with the Wolverines, seeing action at right tackle, left guard, as well as defensive tackle. Dawson saw action in 12 total games at Michigan over the past three seasons.
Iowa State finished the 2016 season in ninth place in the Big 12 with an overall record of 3-9.
