Here is a look at the Squad Up daily NBA fantasy picture for Saturday, Jan. 14:

Dynamic Duos

  • PG Chris Paul (95K) & C DeAndre Jordan (83K), Clippers (vs. Lakers): Since losing PF Blake Griffin in mid-December, Paul has been without his favorite assist target. He's still managed to drop 2.3 dimes per game to both Jordan and SG J.J. Redick. Pairing Paul with Jordan maximizes scoring, passing and rebounding without too many overlapping areas of expertise. It's what you want in a great cash-game duo.
  • PF Ersan Ilyasova (62K) & PG T.J. McConnell (59K), 76ers (at Wizards): In the six games since McConnell was elevated to a starting role on a full-time basis, he's averaged 2.5 assists per game to Ilyasova alone. With C Joel Embiid resting on the second half of a back-to-back, there will be more looks for Ilyasova, who is already averaging close to 17-6-2 over his own last six games.
  • SG Bradley Beal (80K) & PF Markieff Morris (63K), Wizards (vs. 76ers): This is somewhat of a contrarian duo. There's a chance PG John Wall (wrist) misses this game, meaning over 18 shots would have to be reallocated to the other Wizards. Beal and Morris rank second (26.8%) and third (20.8%) behind Wall in usage rate, will have a chance to far exceed their season usage numbers against a weak 76ers defense.

Bargain Plays

  • SF Nik Stauskas (26K), 76ers (at Wizards): Stauskas has logged 29.1 MPG over his last seven games, and though he hasn't been lighting up the world with his 3-point shooting in the stretch, it could change Saturday. The Wizards have allowed the fourth-highest 3-point shooting percentage to opponents this season, 37.8%.
  • PF Trey Lyles (25K), Jazz (vs. Magic): Lyles is the bare minimum in terms of pricing, and is just one game removed from a three-game streak of double-digit scoring. He's only grabbing four rebounds per outing this season but could see more extended run if the Jazz decide to match up with the Magic's size in the frontcourt.
  • C Dewayne Dedmon (33K), Spurs (at Suns): The biggest boost to Dedmon's fantasy value is a blowout, which happens more often than not for the Spurs these days. Over his last three games, the bench big has averaged 8.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 steals. He's the cheapest player with a reasonable shot at a double-double.

Top Fades

  • PG John Wall (111K), Wizards (vs. 76ers): Despite playing the lowly, Embiid-less 76ers, Wall is unlikely to be officially ruled out. Not only is the game at home, but potential All-Star voters will be watching and with just a few days left to cast their ballots, every vote counts. It just seems unlikely Wall can live up to the highest salary on the Squad Up slate.
  • PF Terrence Jones (64K), Pelicans (at Bulls): Jones had a statement game on Thursday, helping a Pelicans team without PF Anthony Davis overcome a bad Nets squad with a 24-point, 12-rebound night. That was the perfect storm of opportunity and matchup, but with Davis not expected to sit out again, Jones could be a complete bust.
  • PG Tony Parker (46K), Spurs (at Suns): This tilt is in Mexico City, where the altitude is thousands of feet higher than the highest NBA home city (Denver). It doesn't bode well for the Spurs' veterans -- especially Parker, SG Manu Ginobili and PF Pau Gasol. If the trio does play against the lowly Suns, it will be as a favor to the league during an international showcase rather than head coach Gregg Popovich's prerogative.

Contrarian Options

  • PF Julius Randle (71K), Lakers (at Clippers): Randle is the priciest PF on the slate and five-time All-Star in PF LaMarcus Aldridge is 3K cheaper; casual players will flock to the better known commodity. Randle has averaged 17-9-5 with 1.1 steals and 50% shooting over his last 10 games. He's a legitimate double-double threat with a burgeoning pass-tool.
  • SG Danny Green (40K), Spurs (at Suns): Unfamiliar environments (like Mexico City Arena) can be tough on perimeter shooters who rely heavily on routine, and Green has cracked double-digit scoring only once in his past six games. Fortunately, the Suns' perimeter is abominable, allowing 38.4 percent from the arc -- the second-highest 3-point percentage in the NBA.
  • C Tyson Chandler (52K), Suns (vs. Spurs): Chandler tallied a 14-19 double-double and played nearly 38 minutes. It's hard to imagine a similar line, though he is averaging 18 boards per game over his last four outings. Stranger things have happened than Chandler doing a Dennis Rodman impression 7,200 feet above sea level.
