Rose doesn't regret Knicks game no-show: 'Family over everything'
Derrick Rose gave his New York Knicks teammates a serious scare when he failed to show up to the team's Monday night game against the New Orleans Pelicans without telling anyone where he was.
Turns out, he'd gone back to Chicago to be with his family after encountering some kind of emotional distress, but the Knicks didn't find that out until after the game.
Rose returned to the team for Wednesday night's crushing loss to the 76ers in Philadelphia, and before playing his first game back at Madison Square Garden since his bizarre disappearance, he was asked whether he would've done things any differently. He was unequivocal.
"Family before anything," he told reporters, according to CSN's Vincent Goodwill. "Family over everything."
Rose hopes the incident didn't give the organization or its fans a negative perception of him.
"I felt like they understood where I was coming from," he said. "I hope one incident didn't change their mind."
