Minnesota United announced Tuesday the club has signed defender Vadim Demidov, adding the 30-year-old Norwegian center-back to its MLS roster using Targeted Allocation Money.

Capped 16 times for Norway, Demidov joins Adrian Heath's defensive ranks, where the club has thus far added just four other defenders in Francisco Calvo, Justin Davis, Joseph Greenspan, and Kevin Venegas.

"It was a really easy choice for me to come to Minnesota," Demidov said in a club-issued statement. "I was immediately interested in this club after speaking with the staff here, we are developing into something new and exciting and I enjoy that idea. I wanted to take on a new challenge and prove myself in a new league and I am very happy to be able to do that here in Minnesota."

Damidov joins the club having last plied his trade with SK Brann in the Norwegian first division, and has also enjoyed time with Anzhi Makhachkala in the Russian Premier League, as well as playing for teams like Celta Vigo, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Rosenborg.

And, he says, he's ready to give everything he has to his new side.

"I never quit, I give 100 percent and I have a winning mentality, I hate losing," Demidov said. "I'll do everything to win for the team. I like to take charge and take responsibility and be a part of a team that grows together."
