Knicks fine Rose for skipping Monday's game

The New York Knicks have fined point guard Derrick Rose for skipping Monday's contest against the New Orleans Pelicans.
He is expected to be in uniform for Wednesday's game versus the Philadelphia 76ers.
The 28-year-old revealed after practice Tuesday that he missed Monday's contest to be with his mother. He also denied any reports suggesting there was a rift between him and head coach Jeff Hornacek.
Rose's absence could affect his next contract, as the chances of him landing an extension with the Knicks in July are reportedly in jeopardy.
The three-time All-Star is averaging 17.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds on 44.3 percent shooting during his first season in the Big Apple.
