Madrid - Argentine international Martin Demichelis became a free agent on Tuesday after his contract with Spanish La Liga side Espanyol was rescinded.
"Martin Demichelis and RCD Espanyol have reached an agreement which contractually rescinds the Argentine defender from the club," Espanyol said in a statement.
Former Manchester City and Bayern Munich defender Demichelis, 36, signed a one-year contract in August with the Barcelona-based side, but made just two La Liga appearances and hasn't featured since October.
