'Wonderboy' posts signed contract for Woodley fight, draws champ's ire

Stephen Thompson is letting everyone know that he's down for a rematch with Tyron Woodley and the champ isn't impressed.

On Sunday, "Wonderboy" took to Twitter to show that he had recently signed a contract to fight the UFC welterweight titleholder and has been waiting for an answer since.

Woodley responded to Thompson's post immediately, but it wasn't the answer Thompson was looking for. Rather than accept the bout, "The Chosen One" invoked the old BOFA-Deez Nuts meme, which Thompson deftly avoided:

The discussion became heated as Woodley denied that Thompson was worthy of a runback despite their title match at UFC 205 last November ending in a majority draw. Woodley landed some of the most visibly damaging punches of the five round bout, but was only able to win over one judge while the other two scored it 47-47.

That result was enough for Woodley to retain his belt, though Thompson remained in the No. 1 contender's spot that he's held since defeating Rory MacDonald last June. Thompson's standing combined with the debatable result of their first meeting has him questioning why Woodley is so reluctant to fight him again.

Woodley wrote that Thompson is "entitled" and "delusional," and then suggested that his next title defense could be against No. 3-ranked welterweight Demian Maia.

The UFC has only one title fight scheduled for 2017 so far and it doesn't look like they'll be adding a match for the 170-pound belt anytime soon.
