The Cleveland Browns will replace Ray Horton as their defensive coordinator, but have yet to fill the position, a source told FOX Sports' Alex Marvez.

Cleveland apparently offered the job to Gregg Williams, who currently serves as the Los Angeles Rams' defensive coordinator, Marvez reports.

The Browns have also contacted Wade Phillips about the position, adds Marvez. Phillips' contract with the Denver Broncos expired at the end of the season.

Horton was hired as Browns defensive coordinator in January, and the team slumped to a 1-15 record in his first season with the club. It was his second stint in the position - he held the role for the Browns in 2013 before moving onto the same job with the Tennessee Titans for 2014-15.
