Giannis buries buzzer-beater to complete Bucks' comeback vs. Knicks
The Milwaukee Bucks completed a furious fourth-quarter comeback against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, thanks to the heroics of one Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Bucks had trailed by 14 points heading into the fourth quarter, on the road in MSG. Their reserves (specifically Jason Terry and Greg Monroe) helped get them back into the game as Antetokounmpo rested for the first five minutes, and by the time he returned, the deficit had been pared down to three.
From that point on, Antetokounmpo took over, scoring 12 points over the final seven minutes, culminating in the remarkable final flourish. The Knicks had held possession with eight seconds to play, but Antetokounmpo forced a turnover on the inbound, setting up the dramatic finish: this well-contested, game-winning fadeaway over Lance Thomas at the buzzer.
He finished with 27 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. Just another night for the Greek Freak.
"It feels great to hit a game-winner here," Antetokounmpo said, when asked if there was a better place than the Mecca of Basketball to win one at the buzzer. "But I want to hit a game-winner in Milwaukee, back home."
