League rescinds 2 of Westbrook's techs
Russell Westbrook can breathe a sigh of relief.
While he still leads the league in technical fouls, the NBA has recently rescinded two of Westbrook's techs, dropping his season total to nine, according to NewsOK's Brett Dawson.
This bodes well for the All-NBA guard, who was previously just five techs away from receiving a mandatory one-game suspension.
The technicals he received Nov. 14 versus the Detroit Pistons and Dec. 17 against the Phoenix Suns were rescinded this week.
Westbrook joins DeMarcus Cousins, Blake Griffin, Wesley Matthews, Mason Plumlee, Ed Davis, Richard Jefferson, and Bismack Biyombo as the other players to have technicals rescinded in 2016-17.
Despite the high number of techs, Westbrook is putting together a terrific season, averaging 30.9 points, 10.5 assists, and 10.4 rebounds on 42.8 percent shooting.
