Embiid casts All-Star vote for himself on Twitter

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid wants to be a member of the Eastern Conference All-Star team and compete in New Orleans on Feb. 19 really badly, whether it's merely for the distinction of being a rookie in the midseason exhibition, or to impress a lady love.

Nonetheless, the "Process" of getting him one step closer to a spot came in the form of the 22-year-old big man posting a vote for himself on his Twitter account Tuesday night following Philly's 93-91 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The vote was well within the confides of the rules, as players are eligible to pick themselves and their teammates. The starting lineups will still be determined by voting, although the power has been spread out to include both players and select members of the media this year.

Embiid currently leads the Sixers - and rookies, for that matter - in points (19.2), rebounds (7.3), and rejections (2.3), while shooting 46 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from 3-point range.
