Love dropped 10 pounds in past 2 days due to food poisoning
The New Orleans Pelicans' bigs likely found it easier than usual to push Kevin Love around Monday night, and it wasn't because they've been putting in extra hours in the weight room.
According to Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue, Love was 10 pounds lighter by tipoff Monday than he'd been just two days earlier, thanks to a bout of food poisoning. Lue told reporters after the game that the culprit was a piece of sea bass Love ate on the team's trip home from Charlotte on New Year's Eve, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
Somehow, the svelter Love still managed to suit up against the Pelicans, and though it was far from his finest outing (he shot 5-of-19 from the field and 0-of-7 from deep), he managed to pull down 11 rebounds in 24 minutes and finish a plus-2 in the 90-82 win.
He was the only Cavs' starter to post a positive net rating.
