A misconduct charge won't stop the reunion between Burnley and Joey Barton.

On Monday, Burnley confirmed an agreement was reached with Barton and his representatives that will see the English midfielder return to the Clarets until the end of the season.

Burnley's confirmation comes exactly 10 days after Barton was charged by the Football Association for misconduct in relation to betting. He's alleged to have placed 1,260 bets on football matches or competitions between March 26, 2006 and May 13, 2016.

Barton will become available for selection on Jan. 3 after he served a one-match suspension in Burnley's 2-1 Premier League defeat at Manchester City. The suspension stemmed from another betting offence in which the Scottish Football Association sanctioned the player for betting on 44 matches between July 1 and Sept. 15.
