Report: Owner 'very unhappy' with Colts' play; coaches fear changes

Missing out on the playoffs for a second time in as many years could lead to some major changes in Indianapolis.

Colts owner Jim Irsay has been "very unhappy" with his team's performance as the 2016 campaign comes to a close, and coaches in the organization fear changes are on the way, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Head coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson were rewarded with contract extensions following last year's 8-8 finish, seemingly securing their future with the club despite some mounting concerns about its direction.

Irsay remained confident in the pair in the early stages of the season, but he's seemed less certain about their respective statuses as the ups and downs continued into December.

Indianapolis posted a 33-15 record across the first three seasons after turning to Pagano and Grigson in 2012, each time earning a playoff spot and advancing one step further in the postseason.

The underwhelming way in which the team is built around franchise quarterback Andrew Luck has become particularly obvious in the two years since.

Despite the contract extensions and the guaranteed money that comes with them, it would no longer be much of a surprise to see the Colts clean house following Sunday's season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
