Agent: Zaza 'definitely' returning to Juventus in January

The Simone Zaza experiment is over.

West Ham has decided to return the struggling Italian striker to Juventus before his loan spell becomes permanent, agent Vincenzo Morabito told Juvenews, as reported by the Guardian.

Joining the Hammers in August on an initial €5-million loan deal, Zaza has failed to meet even the lowest expectations. He's yet to score a single goal in 11 appearances for the club.

"Zaza will definitely go back to Juve, because West Ham do not want to keep him," Morabito is quoted as saying. "He could well stay in Turin, given that Juventus might need another striker. If not, there are plenty of other options."

The 25-year-old would've made his stay a long one if he reached a certain number of appearances for Slaven Bilic's side - but it appears he won't play again for West Ham.

Zaza missed the midweek clash against Burnley through injury, and he's set to miss Saturday's match against Hull City.

A potential move to Napoli has gained traction in the Italian press, while Cesare Prandelli's relegation-bound Valencia is also considered a possible destination.

Zaza indicated in November that leaving West Ham would be "a failure to me personally," and that now appears to be a reality.
