Islanders' Capuano: 'I'm losing my patience' with lackluster offense
Jack Capuano wants more from his team.
The New York Islanders dropped a 4-2 decision Tuesday to the Washington Capitals, getting outshot 38-28 in the process.
It was the Islanders second loss in a row following a stretch where they earned a point in five consecutive games, but sitting in last place in the Eastern Conference, Capuano is growing tired of the same old results.
"I'm losing my patience with some guys," Capuano said following the loss, according to Jim Cerny from thehockeywriters.com. "We have to hold guys accountable."
"Where's the poise? Where's the confidence," Capuano added.
Capuano has a point. Several keys to the Islanders' offense simply aren't producing, as only six forwards have eclipsed the 10-point mark this season.
"It's frustrating," Capuano said, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple. "You know the talent's there. You don't know where it's gone."
As you might expect, captain John Tavares was exempt from the criticism:
