Lewandowski extends Bayern stay
Bayern Munich has secured the services of star striker Robert Lewandowski, tacking on two years to his current deal that will see the Polish international ply his trade at the Allianz Arena through June 2021.
Lewandowski announced the news Tuesday on Twitter, with the club posting a statement on its website confirming the contract.

"I am very pleased that the negotiations have led to a positive result and that I will remain a few years away from Bayern," Lewandowski conceded. "Together we still have great goals."
Lewandowski, who joined the Bavarian giant in 2014 from rival Borussia Dortmund, has led the club in scoring in each of his two prior campaigns with the club, pairing 52 goals and 10 assists in all competitions during that period.

Again this season he leads the team with 16 goals scored in all competitions, providing a massive boost to a side that has struggled for support from typical sources. Franck Ribery, Douglas Costa, and Thomas Muller have just five Bundesliga goals between them this season, highlighting the importance of the 28-year-old Lewandowski.
Bayern legend and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was as elated as Lewandowski, saying, "I'm happy we've secured the services of one of the world's best centre-forwards over the long term. We now have certainty that another key player will wear the FC Bayern shirt in the coming years."
