Dortmund to Liverpool: Hands off Pulisic

Borussia Dortmund has again told Liverpool to modify its Christmas wishlist because talented teen Christian Pulisic is staying put at the Westfalenstadion.

The Merseysiders first targeted the 18-year-old attacker in the summer and had a €13-million bid for the United States international rejected.

That approach prompted a response from Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc, telling Bild a month ago, "It's not worth the effort for Liverpool."

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again is apparently Liverpool's M.O., with Jurgen Klopp's lot making a second approach for Pulisic ahead of the January window.

That too has sparked a reply from Zorc.

"We have communicated very clearly that we won't sell Christian, and that he's very much part of our plans," Zorc told Bild, courtesy of ESPN FC. "Liverpool don't need to waste their time."

Very much part of Thomas Tuchel's young first-team set-up with 16 appearances this campaign, and under contract with the eight-time German champ until 2019, it'll take more than a €13-million bid and persistence to pry the U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year away from the North Rhine-Westphalians.

Even with those obstacles in Liverpool's way, Bild adds that the club has submitted an offer in the neighbourhood of €29.7 million, which for perspective, is a tad more than the €27-million fee Manchester City paid for Ilkay Gundogan in the summer.
