D.C. United announced Monday the club has traded the rights to forward Kennedy Igboananike to the Portland Timbers and the rights to midfielder Miguel Aguilar to the LA Galaxy in exchange for future draft picks.

The Timbers swapped their low second-round round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft in order to attain the rights to Igboananike, who was once a Designated Player for the Chicago Fire before being traded to D.C. in July. The Timbers also acquired an international roster slot good until the end of 2017.

The LA Galaxy sent a fourth-round pick in the 2017 SuperDraft in exchange for Aguilar, who made 23 appearances with D.C. United over the last two years. D.C. also sent the Galaxy its 4th-round pick for the 2019 SuperDraft.

"I'd like to wish Kennedy and Miguel the best of luck as they move on from D.C. United, and we are grateful for their time spent here," D.C. United general manager Dave Kasper said in a club-issued statement.
