Burgeoning Torino star Andrea Belotti put pen to paper on a new contract Sunday, the Italian striker renewing terms until 2021 with the Granata.

The new deal also includes a €100-million release clause, which applies only to non-Italian clubs. It's a move, similar to the reported buyout in Mauro Icardi's Inter contract, surely aimed at avoiding a repeat of Juventus' activation of the respective clauses in both Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic's contracts this past summer.

Belotti, 22, has enjoyed a fantastic 2016 calendar year; the physically imposing youngster, now clearly the first-choice striker for Italy boss Giampiero Ventura, has found the net 10 times in Serie A this season, pairing his scoring proficiency with a trio of assists.

Torino, sitting pretty in seventh despite losing some influential talent over the summer, owes much of its success thus far to the powerful Belotti, who has been the focal point of an exciting three-pronged attack alongside Iago Falque and Adem Ljajic.

With his new contract in tow, the Italian will look to get back among the goals when his side hosts Juventus in the Turin derby next weekend.
