Here is a look at the Squad Up daily NBA fantasy picture for Thursday, December 1:

Dynamic Duos

  • PG James Harden (106K) & C Clint Capela (60K), Rockets (at Warriors): Harden and Capela are the best way to maximize the Rockets' production without too much overlap in skill set. Harden averages 3.1 assists to Capela every game, while the big man's focus on rebounding and shot-blocking allows him to get out of the way for his prolific teammate.
  • SF Giannis Antetokounpo (101K) & Jabari Parker (68K), Bucks (at Nets): The Nets have the second-worst defensive efficiency in the league, allowing 108.6 points per 100 possessions. Together, Antetokounmpo and Parker average 41.4 points, 8.1 assists, 14.7 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.4 blocks per game. The duo will find some way to fill the score sheet.
  • C Brook Lopez (69K) & PG Sean Kilpatrick (48K), Nets (vs. Bucks): An affordable Lopez/Kilpatrick duo should see low ownership. Admittedly, the two don't have a typical point guard/big man relationship, but as the team's two top scoring options, they have returned cash game value more often than not in recent outings, especially when Lopez is hitting 3-point shots.

Bargain Plays

  • C Bismack Biyombo (34K), Magic (at Grizzlies): A rested Magic squad will face an injury-ravaged Grizzlies team playing its second game in as many nights. Memphis was close to a bottom-10 team in 3-point shooting prior to Mike Conley's injury; now, they'll be forced to take shot even closer to the hoop, funneling toward the shot-blocking presence of Biyombo.
  • SG Marco Belinelli (34K), Hornets (vs. Mavericks): Dallas offers up the highest opponents3-point percentage - a whopping 40.9 percent, significantly higher than even the Rockets' mark of 38.2 percent. Belinelli, hitting 45.1 percent of his nearly four 3-point attempts per game, matches up well with the Mavericks' shortcomings on defense.
  • SG Wayne Ellington (25K), Heat (vs. Jazz): Since making his season debut, Ellington has scored 15.5 points in 29 minutes per game, with helpful contributions in every other stat category. The Heat rotation is ailing and this might be the last time Ellington's price is at the salary floor. He's good value, even against a tough Jazz defense.

Top Fades

  • PG Kyrie Irving (76K), Cavaliers (vs. Clippers): The Clippers have the second-best Defensive Efficiency in the league and floor general Chris Paul is the first line of defense on the perimeter. The Cavs are not without firepower at other positions and will find it easier to run the offense through LeBron and Kevin Love, rather than Irving at the point.
  • C Hassan Whiteside (76K), Heat (at Jazz): Whiteside has his work cut out for him as he'll take on an equally imposing shot-blocker in Rudy Gobert. The Jazz have middle-of-the-pack outside shooting metrics but expect the guards and wings to lean heavily on the mid-range game to avoid Whiteside's verticality in the paint. Expect Whiteside's blocks and rebounds to disappoint.
  • SG Evan Fournier (59K), Magic (at Grizzlies): Fournier's usage has been frustrating. In his past four games, the Frenchman has alternated between taking more than 20 and fewer than 10 shots. The Grizzlies still have tough defenders like Tony Allen on the wing, so lean toward this being another off night for the streaky shooter.

Contrarian Options

  • SF Aaron Gordon (40K), Magic (at Grizzlies): Gordon's production has been spotty at best. After losing his starting job after eight games, he has averaged just 23.7 minutes and 8.1 points off the bench. He's been back among the starters for two games now and could see increased playing time against the Grizzlies, a poor outside shooting team which would allow the Magic to deploy Gordon at small forward.
  • PG Dante Exum (30K), Jazz (vs. Heat): In his past four games, Exum has averaged 7.3 minutes of floor time and earned himself a "DNP - Coach's Decision." That's due to change Thursday, as the expected absence of both George Hill and Rodney Hood will propel the Aussie prospect into heavy minutes. What he does when given the opportunity is anyone's guess, however, as he's still far from a finished product.
  • C Greg Monroe (29K), Bucks (at Nets): When Monroe has played greater than 20 minutes per game this season, he has averaged 13.0 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Of course, the Bucks' bench big has found himself in Jason Kidd's doghouse of late, so playing time isn't guaranteed, though a soft matchup would allow him to log some heavier minutes - if only to increase his potential trade value.
