Tennessee lost 3 commitments in 10 minutes on Tuesday

It hasn't been a good three days for Butch Jones and Tennessee.

First came Saturday's loss to in-state rival Vanderbilt, the third time in five years the Commodores have knocked off the Volunteers, after winning just once in the 29 years before that.

Things didn't get any better Tuesday night, as the Tennessee coach lost three commitments for the 2017 class in the span of 10 minutes.

First came a message on Twitter at 8:56 p.m. ET from 4-star running back C.J. Cotman announcing he was decommitting from the Volunteers.

Just minutes later a story broke from Ryan Barlow of 247 Sports that twin brothers Breyon and Brandon Gaddy, who are both 3-star defensive tackles, were also decommiting from Tennessee and will look at other options.

Cotman was the Volunteers fourth-highest commit in the 2017 class, and is listed as the 245th overall prospect on the ESPN 300. The Gaddy brothers are both top-30 recruits in the state of Virginia, and had been committed to Tennessee since July.

Whether the loss to Vanderbilt was behind the decision to decommit for any of the three players is unclear, but that's what can happen when dropping a game to a local rival.
