Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers have earned themselves a reputation for complaining about officiating, but Rivers may have had a case Tuesday night in Brooklyn.
After arguing with referee Lauren Holtkamp - who the Clippers have a history with - about a foul call she whistled while the Clippers were trying to trap the Nets late in overtime, Rivers was assessed a technical foul by official Ken Mauer.
While Nets guard Isaiah Whitehead missed the pair of ensuing free throws and the Clippers rallied to force a second overtime, the techs could've proved critical, as Los Angeles was down 117-115 with 18 seconds remaining at the time.
The Clippers eventually fell in double-OT.
