Report: Cooks frustrated with use in Saints offense

Jason Getz / USA TODAY Sports

After being held catchless for the first time in his career last Sunday, New Orleans Saints receiver Brandin Cooks is not pleased with being a decoy in his team's system.

Cooks has grown frustrated with his use in the Saints' offense throughout the season, as he has regularly been used to pull coverage away from his teammates instead of being considered a primary target, sources have told ESPN's Mike Triplett.

While the Saints put up 49 points and over 350 passing yards on the Los Angeles Rams last week, Cooks did not make a single reception and saw rookie receiver Michael Thomas take over the team lead in receiving yards.

The Saints' 2014 first-round pick posted a photo to Instagram after the game hinting that he was unhappy with "the business."

They tell you it's a business. Well I guess I have to turn into a businessman🏹 #shootyourarrows

Through 11 games this season, Cooks is on pace for 1,070 yards, only 68 yards off his 2015 total.
