Ravens intentionally hold every Bengals player to seal win
Vikings Blogger/Twitter
Every single Baltimore Ravens player except the punter committed holding on the final play of regulation in Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Ravens meant to do it. Leading 19-12 and facing a fourth-and-8 deep in their own end with 11 seconds left on the clock, the Ravens knew they could simply run all the time off the clock, take a safety, and win the game.
Is it a little cheap? Maybe, but it's also smart. A game can't end on a defensive penalty, but if time runs out on a play that includes an offensive penalty, the game is over.
Credit to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh for recognizing this loophole and exploiting it.
