Chargers' Allen says he'll be ready for OTAs next year

Stan Liu-USA TODAY Sports

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen set a rough timeline for his recovery from a torn ACL incurred during the team's season opener.

Allen was carted off the field in tears during the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and was declared out for the season shortly thereafter.

After watching the year from afar, Allen gave an update on his recovery, along with a preliminary expectation for his return.

"No pain, no restriction. I don't feel anything," Allen said to Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union-Tribune. "It just gets weak, tired. I've just got to gain strength."

"I'll be straight, I'll be right back. I should be ready by OTAs (organized team activities)."
