New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram said he'll play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, after suffering a concussion last Thursday against the Carolina Panthers.

Ingram remains in the league's concussion protocol but was adamant about playing this week.

"I'm fine. I'm gonna be playing Sunday. I feel good, just have to be smart about it if anything comes about, if I'm dealing with anything," Ingram said to ESPN's Mike Triplett.

"I felt good. I was running fast, I was making my cuts, I made some mistakes. So it was just another day. It was a regular day at the office," Ingram added. "And I'm feeling good and looking forward to playing on Sunday."

Saints head coach Sean Payton appeared to agree with Ingram's analysis.

"I think it's encouraging with him, and I've said that all along," Payton said.
