Report: Texas players threaten to boycott TCU game amid Strong rumors

Charlie Strong's time may be coming to an end at Texas, but it appears the players are standing firmly behind their head coach.

According to a report from Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman, several Longhorn players are considering a boycott of Friday's game against TCU over the way Strong has been treated.

"Some of the team is threatening to boycott the TCU game," the source told Bohls. "Older players are trying to settle things down."

Strong said at a press conference Monday that a boycott won't happen and his focus is reaching a bowl game for the seniors.

Reports surfaced Sunday that Strong was going to be fired, but athletic director Mike Perrin came out and said nothing would be evaluated until after Friday's showdown with the Horned Frogs.
