Reus out of Bayern Munich clash with fresh injury concern

Marco Reus' comeback from a tear in his abductor muscle won't come in Saturday's visit from Bayern Munich, after Borussia Dortmund confirmed the midfielder has picked up a slight heel problem.

Thomas Tuchel has had to deal with various fitness issues to his squad lately, but the most damaging has been his inability to call upon Reus since he sustained a groin injury in the DFB-Pokal penalty shootout defeat to Bayern back in May.

He appeared to be in line to make his eventual return against the same opposition this weekend, however, until he unfortunately suffered his latest setback in training.

Although Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti would never welcome an injury to a rival player, he'll undoubtedly breathe easier knowing Reus cannot curate his magic between the Dortmund midfield and frontline. Back in 2014 and when in charge of Real Madrid, the Italian told ESPN FC's Dermot Corrigan that he deemed Reus the "best Germany player" among Die Mannschaft's World Cup-winning throng.

Defender Neven Subotic also remains on the sidelines for Dortmund, with latest estimates pointing to a return later in November.
