The New Orleans Saints had a little deja vu Thursday night.
After Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Vernon Butler blocked a field-goal attempt, linebacker Luke Kuechly picked it up and returned the ball 88 yards for what appeared to be an easy score. Not so different from the Denver Broncos' returned field-goal block the week before.
Not so fast, though.
A totally unnecessary block in the back by James Bradberry on kicker Wil Lutz took the score off the board before Cam Newton hit Ted Ginn for a 40-yard touchdown on the next play.
