Nurmagomedov tweets out threat to leave UFC if title shot is not next
Khabib Nurmagomedov isn't playing around with the UFC.
The top-3 lightweight contender took to Twitter on Wednesday to repeat an ultimatum that he'd made in early October in which he threatened to leave the world's largest MMA promotion if he wasn't granted a title shot after fighting Michael Johnson at UFC 205.
Nurmagomedov took care of business, submitting Johnson in the third round to improve to 24-0 in his pro career, and he tweeted directly at UFC president Dana White to remind him of his plans:
I want to fight for @ufc title for respect but if I don't get my title shot next I have different plan I won't be fighting in UFC @danawhite

Conor McGregor currently holds the 155-pound strap after knocking out Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205, but he and his camp have shown little interest in a meeting with Nurmagomedov much to the Russian's frustration.

It's unclear what Nurmagomedov's options are should he choose to follow up on his threat as former champions Jose Aldo and Frank Mir recently expressed interest in getting out of their UFC contracts to no avail.
