Report: Casspi to meet with Kings management over reduced role
Omri Casspi recently shot down rumors of discontent, but that doesn't mean he is necessarily happy with the Sacramento Kings.
Fresh off a career year, Casspi has seen his minutes halved to start the young season. For that reason, the frustrated forward will meet with Kings general manager Vlade Divac over his marginalized role, Sean Cunningham of ABC10 reports.
Casspi averaged 11.8 points and 5.9 rebounds in 27.2 minutes per game last season.
Those numbers have plummeted to 4.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 15.3 minutes as the likes of Matt Barnes and Rudy Gay have eaten the majority of the minutes at small forward.
Undoubtedly looming large in Casspi's mind is his contractual status.
The 28-year-old's bargain deal is set to expire and the following summer could be Casspi's best chance to cash in. The eight-year veteran has earned a modest $14 million to date.
