Nurmagomedov negotiates with Dana White during UFC 205 bout

Khabib Nurmagomedov has mastered the art of multitasking.

During his impressive win over over Michael Johnson at UFC 205 in New York City that ended with Nurmagomedov winning by submission, the Russian fighter was so comfortable battling from top position that he was able to converse with UFC president Dana White at ringside.

"The Eagle" let White know that he wasn't pleased with what he perceived to be the UFC using him as a pawn in contract negotiations between UFC 205 headliners Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez. Nurmagomedov claims that he signed a bout agreement to fight Alvarez, but that the offer was only so that the UFC could have leverage in their discussions with McGregor.

Speaking backstage at Saturday's event, Nurmagomedov told the media what he shouted at White in the middle of a heated contest.

"I talked with (White) and said, 'Hey, don't send me no more fake contracts. I need real contract,'" Nurmagomedov said, according to Anton Tabuena of Bloody Elbow. "He talked about 'yes, you have to finish this fight.' I said, 'you know that I only deserve this. After this fight I want real contract.' He said, 'okay, finish this.'"

Nurmagomedov wrapped up his contest with Johnson in Round 3, improving his professional record to a spotless 24-0. In the early going, it looked like Johnson's striking could lead to an upset, but Nurmagomedov's wrestling prevailed. He had some choice words for Johnson as well while asserting his dominance:

"I have to fight for the title, you know this. I don't want to smash your face. I already beat you. You have to give up."

White confirmed that the mid-match exchanges with Nurmagomedov did occur, but couldn't say what was next for the undefeated fighter.
