Cristiano Ronaldo took Sunday's World Cup qualifier out of Latvia's reach by ripping a volley past Andris Vanins to give Portugal a 3-1 lead on the Algarve.
Ricardo Quaresma's deliveries were on point from his 65th-minute introduction, assisting for William Carvalho after four minutes, and then teeing up Ronaldo for him to become joint-fourth with Gerd Muller and Robbie Keane in Europe's all-time top scorers in international duty.
Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 68 international goals, more than any other player currently playing international football.
