Report: Blue Jays showing interest in Reddick

Richard Mackson / USA TODAY Sports

With two possible starting outfield spots up for grabs, the Toronto Blue Jays are showing interest in free-agent Josh Reddick, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

Reddick split last season between the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting .281/.345/.405 with 10 home runs and 17 doubles in 115 games. He missed time in May and June after suffering a fractured left thumb, but enters the winter fully healthy.

Morosi noted that the Blue Jays can't fully determine the targets they wish to pursue in free agency until Jose Bautista decides on the $17.2-million qualifying offer the team extended to him. He has until Monday, though it's been reported that he'll reject it to pursue a multi-year deal.

Toronto isn't the only American League East team to have shown interest in the 29-year-old Reddick, as the Baltimore Orioles are also said to be pursuing the left-handed hitter.
