Report: Twins' Dozier garnered interest at GM meetings

The last-place Minnesota Twins will need to make some changes heading into next season if they want to improve upon a dismal 2016, and one player who may bring them back quite a haul via trade is Brian Dozier.

Minnesota garnered interest in their second baseman during the general managers meetings this week, reports FOX Sports' Jon Morosi.

Morosi didn't identify any of the teams showing interest, although the Los Angeles Angels and Dodgers are both in need of help at the position.

The 29-year-old Dozier was one of the few bright spots for the Twins during a 59-103 campaign, finishing tied for third in the American League with 42 home runs, and second behind Robinson Cano in RBIs (99) among AL second baseman.

Dozier has also been durable during his five-year career, playing at least 147 games every season since 2013. He owns a .246/.320/.442 slash line with 117 home runs, 151 doubles, and 346 RBIs over that time.

Dozier's set to earn $15 million over the next two seasons, and is eligible for free agency in 2019.
